Fitness for Kids

(2015 Round 1 - Spring) Support to NOW, a startup nonprofit, to host workshops on nutrition, health, and physical activity for neighborhood kids three times a week on Bellevue Avenue. Seven children from the THDC neighborhood (with sustained participation and support from their families) participated. This project helped to fill an important gap in the neighborhood, as intensive fitness programs or gyms were generally inaccessible to residents. The youth and their families also planted a vegetable garden and were trained in healthy cooking.

(Año 2015, Ronda 1 - Primavera) Apoyo a NOW, una organización sin fines de lucro emergente, para ofrecer talleres sobre nutrición, salud y actividad física para niños del vecindario tres veces por semana en Bellevue Ave. Siete niños del vecindario THDC (con participación y apoyo constante de sus familias) participaron. Este proyecto ayudó a llenar una brecha importante en el vecindario, ya que los programas intensivos de ejercicios o gimnasios generalmente eran inaccesibles para los residentes. Los jóvenes y sus familias también plantaron un huerto y recibieron capacitación en cocina saludable.
