Roberto Clemente Park Heritage Murals

Trenton-based artist Leon Rainbow aimed to create two murals at Roberto Clemente Park, celebrating Puerto Rican culture and heritage, both designed with community input. The first (completed) covered all walls of the pool house in images referencing Puerto Rico's landscape and culture. The second mural was planned for the surface of the basketball court, but required the court to first be resurfaced by the City of Trenton; we therefore allowed Leon to defer this portion and reallocated the remaining balance to other projects in the neighborhood.

El artista residente de Trenton, Leon Rainbow, tuvo como objetivo crear dos murales en el Parque Roberto Clemente, celebrando la cultura y herencia puertorriqueña, ambos diseñados con la participación de la comunidad. El primero (completado) cubrió todas las paredes de la casa de la piscina con imágenes que hacen referencia al paisaje y cultura de Puerto Rico. El segundo mural estaba planeado para la superficie de la cancha de baloncesto, pero requería que la ciudad de Trenton primero resurfazara la cancha; por lo tanto, permitimos que Leon pospusiera esta parte y reasignamos el saldo restante a otros proyectos en el vecindario.
